Professional Window Cleaning Squeegees and Washers
A window cleaning squeegee is a hand tool that removes water, dirt and cleaning solution from glass in a single stroke, leaving a streak-free finish. It has a handle and a channel holding a rubber blade; drawing the blade across wet glass clears the water ahead of it. Below are the professional squeegees and washers we stock in South Africa, followed by a quick guide to choosing the right size.
Please note that the 35cm squeegees and 35cm washer are included in our window cleaning kits, so if you’re looking for a more complete solution then go to our kits page Here.

What Is a Window Cleaning Squeegee?
A window cleaning squeegee is a tool used to remove water, dirt and debris from windows. It consists of a handle with a rubber blade attached; the blade is drawn across the glass, lifting water and grime as it goes. Squeegees come in a range of sizes and blade types to suit different windows — the most common is the T-bar squeegee, whose T-shaped handle makes it easy to grip and control.
Whether you are cleaning home windows or the glass of a high-rise building, the right squeegee makes the job faster and easier. At Window Washing we supply window cleaning squeegees in three main sizes — 45cm, 35cm, and custom sizes under 35cm. The washer (applicator) and squeegee are interchangeable: both fit onto a telescopic pole for high glass, or can be used by hand.
Squeegee Sizes and Rubber Maintenance
Choose a 45cm squeegee for large panes and shopfronts to cover more glass per stroke, and a 35cm squeegee for standard home and office windows or tighter frames. Keep spare squeegee rubbers on hand — the blade is the wear part, and a fresh, nick-free rubber is what gives a streak-free finish.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size window squeegee should I buy?
A 35cm squeegee suits smaller panes and detailed work, while a 45cm squeegee covers large windows and shopfronts faster. Many cleaners carry both sizes.
How often should I replace the squeegee rubber?
Replace the rubber as soon as it starts leaving lines or streaks. For daily professional use that is typically every few weeks. Our 71cm Pulex rubber is a direct replacement blade.
What is the difference between a squeegee and a washer?
The washer (a microfibre sleeve on an applicator) wets and scrubs the glass; the squeegee then blades the water off for a streak-free finish. You use the two together.
Are these professional-grade squeegees?
Yes. They use stainless-steel channels with Pulex-compatible rubbers and are built for daily commercial window cleaning.
